Chicago, Ill. -- Maxxsonics USA Inc. announced the new Olympus SPL subwoofer series launch. Hifonics' new Olympus Series follows in the footsteps of the famous Hifonics Goliath Series subwoofers made legendary during the 2006 SPL competition season. Hifonics unveiled over thirty new products including the Olympus subwoofers during CES2007.
Included in Hifonics Olympus subwoofer series are 12-inch and 15-inch subwoofers offering 1-inch rubber surround, glass-fiber cones, nickel push-in terminals and colossal magnet assemblies. Olympus 1600W subwoofers utilize 10 lb. double-stacked magnets and Olympus subwoofers 2400W incorporate 11¼ lb. double-stacked magnets. The Olympus Series subwoofer’s surrounds allow for huge cone excursions providing extra-deep bass even in small sealed or ported boxes. Hifonics Olympus subwoofer family consists of four models; all are 2-ohm DVC configurations. Standard on Olympus subwoofers are massive white chrome-plated die-cast frames, 3-inch voice-coils, and Hifonics contest-worthy one-piece Nomex spider tinsel-lead assembly that combats tinsel-lead failure at high volume levels. Hifonics double laminated spider assembly was engineered to contend with suspension and lead failures at high SPL’s.
Hifonics 1600-watt RMS 15-inch Olympus SPL subwoofer, the OLM 1615, retails for $649 MSRP, followed by its 12-inch version, the OLM 1612 retails for $599 MSRP. The 2400-Watt RMS 15-inch Olympus SPL subwoofer, the OLM 2415, retails for $799 MSRP, followed by its 12-inch version, the OLM 2412, retails for $699 MSRP.
Hifonics new Olympus SPL subwoofer series was introduced along with over 30 new Hifonics speaker and amplifier products. Olympus subwoofers are targeted for a 1st of June launch
