HOLLY HILL, FL – Metra Electronics launched Monkey Video, a comprehensive line of mobile video products and accessories designed to deliver high performance and style to any installation at their recent Distribution Days event in San Francisco and industry wide at SEMA 2005.

The brand consists of 33 SKUs in the following categories: roof-mount color monitors, head rest screens, video sources, video kits and accessories.

Roof-mount monitors incorporate a wide range of features to appeal to all installation needs. For example, the MFDMD20 15.3'' TFT LCD Roof-Mount Color Monitor has a built-In DVD/CD/MP3 player for total entertainment options. Features among other Monkey Video roof-mount models include a TV/FM tuner, IR headphones, built-in IR transmitter and VGA input. All roof-mount monitors have a TFT LCD for sharp, high-quality pictures in vibrant colors.

Screen sizes range from 20 inches for the MFDM20 Roof-Mount TFT LCD Color Monitor with TV Tuner, to six inches for the MHRM6 TFT LCD Monitor with Headrest Frame and Stand Bracket.

Video sources include single-DIN and half-DIN in-dash DVD players that provide all the functions of a full-featured head unit – such as CD/MP3 playback and an AM/FM tuner – as well as units that have a motorized in-dash monitor, DVD/CD/MP3 playback and an AM/FM/TV tuner.

A back-up camera, wireless headphones, a TV tuner, A/V controller, AV switcher, TV antenna and mounting equipment round out the accessories offerings.

Cosmetics for most products feature the distinctive Monkey Video logo – the head of a hip, sunglass-wearing simian positioned between the words “Monkey” and “Video” – to lend a stylish touch of attitude. This self-assured stance defines the brand’s position, which is to start a revolution in the mobile video industry.
