| It's been a while since I've hooked anything up to a factory unit but I remember that it was pretty simple you should have a pos. and neg. wire coming from your converter hook those up to the pos. and neg. of the closest speaker to where your amp will be mounted which is usally a rear speaker this is where you will get your signal from, hook your pre-amps up to it then to your amp I'm thinking your conveter has a remote wire on it to? If so run that to the remote on your amp then ground it and run some power to it. You should be good to go any problems let me know or ask Xmax he should be able to answer any question you have. |

Last time I screwed with wires like color coded i shorted out every single wire in my jeep...so if you dont know what your doing, i reccomend getting like a proffesional to do it, cause hell, well you can screw up everything and i ended up having to pay 400 some dollars to have auto shop fix problem. _________________

Shouldn't be too hard.... the hardest part is figuring out which wires go to which speaker.
Usually the "signal wires" are seperated from the "power wires" somehow, either 2 seperate harnesses (ford does it this way) or a lot of the time the top row of a harness is power, bottom is signal, or vice versa.
probably unplug the harness and get a multimeter and find out where the memory, constant power wire is, and go from there. put leads into the harness, I wouldn't start snipping wires yet.
The best way to find the different speakers is to get a 9V battery, and touch it to the end of a speaker's wire (- and + wires to - and + battery terminals, doesn't matter which wire goes to which terminal), and you'll hear a distinct "pop" from the speaker. This doesn't hurt the speaker.
Then you would just run the speaker wires into the low level inputs, and then wire the amp outputs to the speakers, probably via the existing factory wires.
So, you'll want to:
1) find out which wires go to which speaker
2) cut the speaker wires. get the part comming from the HU and run it to the amp. Run wires from the output of the amp and connect it to the existing part of the speaker wire you cut previously to go to the speakers.
3) enjoy. _________________ RIP the "GhettoTaurus"
