Well after all the questions I was asking 3-4 months ago about /size qty sealed/ported here is what I did.
Sorry no pic.
I built a single 10" ported enclosure for my Mountaineer using my RFZ1410 Rockford Fosgate. What I used for the port was a pece of 3" schedule 40 PVC pipe & a 3" closet flange (for toilet drains).
The closet flange is made for either 3" or 4" PVC so I was able to use a 4" hole saw to cut the hole with. I glued the flange to the inside of the enclosure using liquid nails & then used 4 screws from the out side to make sure it does not go anywhere.
I could not believe how much more sound I got out of a ported box
I ended up using one of the 12" RFZ1812's in a sealed box in my Cougar. I'm thinking of using the other & builing a ported box for it & puting it in my Mountaineer |

Liquid nails is a construction adhesive that comes in a calking tube. It is used mainly for gluing wood together or panelling to walls. It is available at most all hardware stores.
I also use it as well as others to glue my enclousers together to hold & help seal them. I then use wood decking screws as well to make sure that they do not come apart. |

Awesome!
Its always great to see someone go and try something new.
Custom made ported boxes can do wonders if you know what your doing, its great that you did well on your first box!
Liquid nails is just the name-brand construction adhesive, I use it for sub boxes, but usually I buy the cheap stuff for other projects because its like 1-2 bucks a tube compared to 4-5 bucks for liquid nails _________________ RIP the "GhettoTaurus"

Only problem with "LIQUID NAILS" s that it doesn't like vibration. I used it back in the day (when I first started building) and found out that after a while is gets brittle and will come apart under the right conditions. I now use GORILLA GLUE on all my enclosures. _________________ X-MAX CAR AUDIO

Use heavy duty liquid nails and it will dry like cement the other grades of it are pretty much junk. They take to long to dry and and will not firm up. if you want it hard and sure then use the heavy duty. Ported boxes will give more bass at a given level with less power then a sealed. But if you want More SQ it will sound better in a sealed box but i dont think a S*hit load better but thats just trial and error from me everbodys ears are different though just like beauty....Its all in the eye (ear) of the beholder. BTW im rolling in a Mountaineer myself. And liquid nails(heavyduty) here is less then 2.50 a tube thats at lowes and wal-mart _________________ "I may dumb but im not a dweeb,
