If anybody has any suggestions on this problem, I could sure use the help. Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a 1989 Ford Mustang and am attempting to install a newer Ford factory AM/FM/CD head unit. I bought a JBL amplifier from a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO (photos of both below).

The head unit is for a 93 Mustang, Ford part number F3ZF-18C815-AF

The amplifier set-up includes the main amp and a sub-woofer

There are 6 speakers in the car; 2 in the dash, 2 in the doors and 2 in the rear inside quarter panels (the car is a convertible)

I need to find a wiring harness that will connect all of this stuff together. Is there anywhere I can get an oem Ford harness that will work short of finding a 95 SHO and pulling the harness? Is there an aftermarket harness that will work?

You can send any email to my email address: tmcg50@msn.com

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Tom

IMO, your best off getting a harness off an SHO. The harness from the HU is easy to find (it should be a "premium" stereo ford harness), but I'm not so sure about the harness to the amps, I'm not sure if they're really available.

I found this.... http://cgi.ebay.com/HARNESS-FORD-LINCOLN-MERCURY-91-96-AMP-JUMPER_W0QQitemZ9731056430QQihZ008QQcategoryZ32812QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Its made to by-pass the amp, but you can probably cut the harness in half and use it. It looks like it plugs into the amp input and connects to the output. I'm %97 sure virtually all ford stereos before 96 or 97 are basically the same. I've installed HU's on several fords, and thats what I've found. But you'd have to find a wiring diagram or trial-and-error to find what wire is what.
