| Hey I'm new to this site and I was looking for help with my amp. It is a 1600 watt poweracoustic amp, but i don't know a lot about audio. I'm hoping I didn't fry it but I think that's what I did. I was driving home one day when it was cold, and my dumbass didn't let it warm up. The Bass just turned off including the amp. I opened my trunk and checked it our and the lights were all off on the amp....nothing. When I started my car to check lights, a red light flashed once and that was it....does this mean it's fryed, or could I just blew a fuse? Please HelP! |

Amplifiers (like most electronics) do not need to warm up (unless it's a tube amp). Your amp actually will work better in cooler areas.
Fist thing is to check for power and ground. You can use a simple test light for this and it'll take only a few seconds to diagnose. Be sure to check the main power at the amp, the trigger (remote turn on) at the amp and the ground at the amplifier. If all 3 are good, I would say that you have a defective amplifier. _________________ X-MAX CAR AUDIO
