Well, here's the story. I bought a Pioneer 35w x 4 amp and wired that all up myself, following lots of advice I got from the internet. I also wired in an Alpine V12 mono amp to an Alpine Type-R sub. Everything is wired with a 4 gauge Rockford Fosgate wiring kit. Not the greatest, but not some crappy Walmart stuff either.

Now I have alternator noise through my speakers.

Here's my setup:

The power wire starts it's journey here:

Then clings to the wiring harness in back and down through a grommet in the bulkhead.

It then goes down, under some trim under the door, and ends up here, under my back seat. The black line is where it's hidden.

Then it goes to a splitter block into 2 8 gauge wires to go to each amp.

Then they both ground out here: The orange wires are the speaker wires, running to all 4 speakers, right along side the RCA's to up front.

The RCA's run along the opposite side of the vehicle. The closest they come to a power line is where they connect to the amp.

I've tried running an RCA straight back from the deck to the amp directly, but that didn't help at all.

I also tried a cheap ($14) ground loop isolater from Circuit City with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas? This is really bugging me. Any help would be great, and if you lead me to something that fixes it, I will love you forever.

Thanks,
-Chris

what kind of head unit do you have (sorry if it is in pics my browser wont show them) and are your rcas by your power wire. I have had this same problem in three different cars and everytime a higher output voltage has fixed it, 4volts and above has always seemed to fix my problems

Be sure that your source unit has ample ground and you may want to fins a different ground area for your amplifiers. Does the noise go away when you disconnect the RCA's from the amplifiers. IF it does, then I'd look at the head unit. IF it doesn't, then it's comming from the power, ground wires or possibly the amplifier itself.

I agree with XMAX.

Usually its a problem with the ground. Make sure everything has a good ground. Try re-grounding some of them and see if that stops the noise or helps it.

Car manufacturers are infamous for having crappy HU grounds.

I to am having this issue now that I had to replace a few things in my system, about a week ago my dooe speakers were cutting out, thought it was the OEM amp, so I cut it from the system, a direct line from speaker to head unit...failed, got a replacement Pioneer DHE-P3900MP ( did have 3800mp) with the OEM amp I didnt have noise, the head unit is under powered for door speakers, added a 400W 4 way, though I did cheat and use all the wires from the OEM amp, found wires didnt matter still have it, how can i reduce it?
My system: headunit Pioneer, 130amp ALT, amps: power acustik 1920, (2) rockford p600.1bd, 300W Jensen, 400W 4way, 4x6 doors, dual 10" mid subs(crossed at HF 80) quad 12" audiobahn subs. dual 4AWG + and 0AWG to frame(moter side) in back, Kinetik HC2400 and HC600, also (each) 4AWG and 0AWG, custom built 1/4" X 2" X 4' (foot) ground bar,(welded to frame) BTW, going on 3rd year in comps, the dual 10" was part of a quad set year 1 (145.5) with power acustik 1920, 2nd year sister 12" audiobahn (@400W each)with only the power acustik 1920 (150.1) this year... the 12" are 1,100W each added the rockfords, 400 and 300W amps and both HC secondary bats. custom built boxes to audiobahn's spec for the 12s 19.5X19.5X39.5 (each box) I have a comp cumming up on the 9th of June (first comp of the year) so I need a fix and fast... thanks for any help/advice (email direct shadowworks_2000@hotmail.com subject : Your car audio help)
