LAS VEGAS, NV – Scosche Industries’ innovations continue with its vehicle display at SEMA with the first-ever aftermarket installation that doesn’t include an actual head-unit. The Scosche Industries Nissan Frontier feature vehicle showcased the company’s newest products, its Bluetooth interface for iPod/MP3 players. A single iPod unit will control the vehicle’s audio system paired with Scosche’s patent-pending Bluetooth wireless interface. Scosche’s high-end line of audio accessories, EFX, completed the audio installation. The full EFX audio system demonstrated the unparalleled sound of EFX products and displayed how these products seamlessly fit into a vehicle’s audio system.
The OEM headunit in the Nissan Frontier was removed. In its place was the Scosche Bluetooth Receiver. For demo purposes on the SEMA Show floor a plexi cover was fabricated to cover the opening and LEDs were added to give the installation the ultra "WOW" factor.
“By taking out the head-unit, our feature vehicle demonstrated how our innovative new Bluetooth wireless interface can be used for any aftermarket or OEM audio system,” said Kas Alves, vice president, sales and marketing, Scosche Industries. “Focusing on the audio system, the Nissan Frontier will showcase the quality of our EFX hyperdrive products.”
The Nissan Frontier used a single iPod unit as the audio source wirelessly connected using the Scosche Bluetooth wireless interface, #IPBCK. The installation also included two pair of EFX Hyperdrive 5 ¼ ” convertible component speakers in the front doors (#HDX52) and one pair of EFX 6 3/4 “ component speakers (#KDX67) in the rear doors. The system was powered by one 4-channel 800 watt Amp (#HD4004) and one mono 800 watt Amp (#HD3001) both mounted under the rear seat. Two EFX HDW1004 10” dual voice coil subwoofers In a custom console between the rear seats round out the EFX audio installation. EFX Hyperdrive wire, battery terminals, distribution blocks and stiffening capacitor complete the installation.
The Nissan Frontier’s multimedia system was rounded out by two Clarion 5.8” headrest monitors. Custom charcoal paint and ghost flames by L&G Enterprises, and two-tone custom leather interior by Katzkin added to the aesthetics of the vehicle. Panther 20” ‘Orgin” rims, Nitto Terra Grappler tires, Magnaflow exhaust, AFE intake, Manik pre-runner bumpers, PIAA off road lights, Calmini 5” lift kit, and Grillecraft mesh grill insert completes the custom installation.
