|
|
If you've tried to go to Kenwood's website recently, its down due to remodeling. They've come out with a completely new line up of Head Units, discontinueing all the units they made last year, and re-organizing their naming/numbering system.
One of the biggest things I noticed was that they discontinued the "Dual Face" units, the ones that "fold out" with a control pad, to have a large display behind it. Last year they offered about 5 or 6 models that were like this, and for some reason stopped making them, which makes one wonder if they had a lot of mechanical problems with them.
I personally loved the fold out design, and thought it was a distinguishing mark of Kenwood's upper line units. I used to own one, and am planning on buying one, but it must be used, and they are very scarce on ebay.
But the new line looks promising, with new features and graphics. Possibly this will allow the upper units to be cheaper because of the lack of moving parts accosiated with them. Kenwood's line up offered a variety of features so you can get exactly what you need. With different units offering MP3, high volt Pre-outs, better resolution screens, more sound control options. And they have enough units you can pick and choose which you like, to not purchase features that won't be useful to you.
All in all I was somewhat sad to see that they were gone, but I have faith that kenwood knows what they're doing. _________________ RIP the "GhettoTaurus"

Upon viewing Kenwood's website, their new Graphic Motion Analyzer is a very unique, innovative, and awesome addition.
The Unit senses your Car's movements, and can record the forces thereof. It also has a stopwatch mode that can be started by the push of a button, or will be started by the G-force of your car moveing (an excellent way to time 0-60 and 1/4 mile times!).
This is truely a feature that will help Kenwood stand out, and offered on their 4 top head units. The lowest sells for about $200 on ebay, so this feature is very affordable. Equipment that does this itself sells for $100 or more!
To see it for yourself
