The Fifth Annual Steel Valley Regional auto show and auto sound competition event is set to take place on May 20, 21, 22, 2005 at the Mountaineer Gaming Resort in Chester, West Virginia. The indoor event will be held in the HARV Arena and will be open to the public free of charge.

This year's show will feature sanctioned comeptitions from IASCA, dB Drag Racing, USACi, and MECA. Both USACi and MECA will participate in the event with each group offering additional points for their respective competitors. Trophy sponsors for this year's show include Mitek, JL Audio, Beyma Speaker Co., and Image Dynamics. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to winners at a special ceremony on Sunday evening at the close of the show.

This year's show will be bigger and better, the planners report, with four of the major soundoff organizations and Top 30 SQ Showdown on Sunday. They will also have the a Show 'n' Shine Truck and Car show this year.

JBL, Polk Audio, and Angel Trax Wireless will have a large booth presence at the show, with award winning vehicles and products on display. Tweak 'n' tune areas will be set up by the participating sponsors for the competitors.

Competitors that compete in all four of the SPL formats will also compete in The Ultimate SPL Challenge. Sam Horn will evaluate all the scores from the respective organizations and crown the loudest vehicle at the show. The winner will get a dedicated Trophy from SVR V.

Team JBL will also be present in force, with its top competitors and Alma Gates' "new" Bronco. Tweak and Tune support will be provided by members of Team JBL and JBL technical services.

The following manufacturers and retailers will support the event with exhibit booths/Tweak and Tunes, prizes, and giveaways: Angel Trax Wireless, JBL, Image Dynamics, Streetwires, Xtant, MTX, Polk Audio, JL Audio, Arc Audio, AudioControl, Batcap, Coustic, Rockford, MB Quart, DLS America, Dynamat, , Future Sound, Infinity, Kicker, Look and Listen, , Memphis Car Audio, Ohio Generator, 21st Century Sound, Team Gates, Kicker, Focal, LS Jewelers, Family One Wireless, Rumorz Show Bar, Wine and Beverage Merchants of WV, United Bank, Matworks, Morel America, Stereo Connection, and Zapco.

In addition to the wide variety of vehicles in the competition lanes and the Show 'n' Shine, there are plenty of entertainment activities for the competitors and public to enjoy.

The Mountaineer Resort boasts over 3000 slot machines, live horse racing, simulcast racing, a health salon, shopping, golf, and multiple restaurants and bars. Show attendees will also have a chance to meet competition stars from all over the country. Once again, part of the proceeds of the show will go to a local charity "Coats for Kids".

Hotel accommodations are available at the new 400-room Grand Hotel, which is within walking distance from the air-conditioned arena where the show will be held. Room reservations can be made by calling 304-387-8000 -- ask for the Car Audio Show special rates of $89/nt for the lodge and 95/nt for the Grande Hotel..

The show will be heavily promoted on local television and radio. In addition, local auto sound retailers in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and the Tri State Area Ohio Valley will support the event with flyers and information about the event.
